Deep
Tissue Massage helps release of constrictions in muscles and
surrounding connective tissue. This work brings increased blood
flow, oxygen supply and energy to previously congested areas. Some
client's report this work is intense but with careful intention and
attention they feel great relief. Deep Tissue Massage works with
connective tissues called fascia. Fascia consists of thin layers of
flexible supportive tissues that surround each muscle, organ and
also surround each muscle fiber. Client's who experience chronically
tight muscle areas may have fascial constrictions somewhere in their
body. The goal of Deep Tissue work is to sink, not push, into the
areas identified as constricted for their release. In an hour
session a couple areas of focus are typically treated rather than
the whole body. Deep tissue massage also aids in the
reduction of scar tissue and is frequently used in conjunction with
Swedish strokes.
